PowerPlus Energy’s LiFe3851 is a 3RU, 48V lithium-iron phasphate battery designed for residential and commercial energy storage. Certified to UL1973 and UL9540A, it delivers electrical and thermal safety, integrated protection hardware and scalable parallel capability.

As an installer, select your preferred operating battery mode, self-managed or managed. Engineered for additional installation flexibility across a wide range of energy storage system requirements. LiFe4851 integrates protection and communication compatibility to streamline commissioning and system configuration.
- In managed mode integrate smart inverters and access system data such as accurate SoC reporting, predictable capacity and SoH. Greater system visibility and detailed fault detection across all connected equipment.
- Self-managed mode increases PCE integration flexibility and is built-in as a redundancy to managed mode in the event of comms connectivity issues.

The LiFe4851 integrates a BMS that monitors, protects and balances the complete battery pack. Unlike cell-level-only certification approaches, the entire system, including cells, electronics, enclosure and protection hardware is tested and validated under fault conditions.

Is the LiFe4851 a managed or self-managed battery?
It can operate in self-managed mode (no inverter communication required) or managed mode via CANBus where supported by the inverter or EMS.
Can the battery be installed outdoors?
Yes, but only inside a suitably rated enclosure (minimum IP54 recommended).
Is the battery truly maintenance-free?
While internal maintenance isn’t required, periodically check connections and ensure no pests have nested around the enclosure.
What safety certifications does the LiFe4851 hold?
UL1973, UL9540A, UN38.3 transport testing, IEC 62619:2017, IEC 61000-6-3:2020, IEC 62368-1:2018.
