Can I buy the Eco4847P for new installations?
Yes. Eco4847P is the recommended replacement for Eco4840P which will continue to be supported for existing installations but is no longer supplied for new projects.
Can Eco4847P be used with Eco4840P in the same system?
No. The two batteries use different BMS voltage setpoints, which can lead to uneven charging, circulating currents and inconsistent protection behaviour.
Are communication cables required?
No. Eco4847P operates normally without communication cables. Status contacts can be connected if monitoring is required, but this is optional.
Is Eco4847P the same size as previous Eco batteries?
Height and depth remain the same. The battery is slightly wider to accommodate higher-density cells but remains compatible with existing racks and cabinets.
Is the status indicator the same as LiFe4838P?
Yes. It provides system status and fault information and should be described as a status indicator rather than an alarm.
