Quality at Every Step

Over the years, we have established a production workflow that focuses on optimising precision, efficiency and consistency. Whether it’s a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) or a standalone battery, each product undergoes quality control at every stage, with batteries going through approximately 40 checks from initial inwards goods, assembly, testing and to final packaging. This commitment to quality ensures every system we produce meets the high standards our customers rely on.

Component Sourcing

Critical components, including battery cells, are sourced from trusted partners and suppliers we have carefully selected to suit our brands mission, ensuring every system begins with quality and reliability from the start.

Team Training & Material Preparation

Our teams are trained in assembly across the entire process, including safety procedures increasing consistency and reducing risk. Material preparation including cable cutting, crimping, heat shrinking and component assembly ensures every system is ready for accurate and efficient assembly.

Assembly

Systems are carefully assembled in our Melbourne facility under strict process controls:

  • Cell verification – each battery cell meets specifications
  • Electrical testing – wiring and connections tested
  • System assembly – integrating battery, cabinet and BESS components
  • Calibration & configuration – optimising performance and safety

Testing

Before release, every battery undergoes charge and discharge cycling with thermal checks, while each BESS completes comprehensive electrical and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) to ensure reliable, safe and efficient performance in the field.

Review & Continuous Improvement

Every stage is documented and evaluated, with improvements applied to enhance quality, efficiency and reliability.

Safety is non-negotiable. Before a battery leaves our Melbourne facility, it has already undergone dozens of checks to protect both your home and your investment.

Our ECO4847P Lithium Battery is officially CEC Listed under the Clean Energy Council’s Battery Assurance Program affirming its safety, performance and suitability for government rebate eligibility.

ISO Certified

PowerPlus Energy’s manufacturing facility holds ISO 9001:2015 certification, demonstrating adherence to internationally recognised quality management standards and continuous improvement practices.

UL Certified

Our Life4851 is UL1973 & UL9540A Certified, setting a new benchmark in battery safety by meeting internationally recognised standards trusted by insurers, asset owners and fire engineers.

System Testing

UL1973 tests the entire battery system, including cells, BMS hardware and software, wiring, enclosure, terminals and protective devices, under real-world fault conditions.

Thermal Testing

UL9540A is the most comprehensive thermal runaway and fire-propagation test for BESS. It evaluates release, gas generation, flame propagation and impact on neighbouring cells and modules and tests whether a failure can be safely contained.
